Malgré un boîtier compact d'une taille plus petite que son prédécesseur, il intègre un grand capteur d'image CMOS de taille APS-C avec environ 24,24 mégapixels effectifs pour produire des images haute résolution, tandis que son court temps de démarrage d'environ 0,8 seconde permet une prise de vue rapide, prise de vue réactive.
